Hello, and welcome to the last episode of Fratello Talks in 2023. Today, RJ, Lex, and your host Nacho are here to discuss their personal, professional, and horological highlights of the year. It’s the 2023 wrap-up episode! Tune in and watch (or listen) as the guys reminisce over some of the past 12 months. They touch on topics ranging from some of the year’s best watch releases and events to horological innovations, articles, and personal achievements. We put a ribbon on 2023 and send the year off on a high by reading off a handful of your comments. But before anything else, it’s time for the final wrist check this year.

Wrist check

We start with Lex, who is wearing a watch that never fails to put a smile on his face. Some of you long-time listeners will recognize the Timor Heritage Field ATP. Currently, Lex is wearing it on a Bund strap from the leather artisans at Eatsleeplay. If you haven’t yet dared to bite the bullet with Bund straps, the integrated style of this strap is an excellent first step. Plus, it’s a match for just about any watch and comes highly recommended. If you’re feeling Bund-curious, you should give it a go.

RJ has dusted off a classic from his collection. This Rolex Datejust 1601 from 1969/70 is a real stunner and a watch he’s happily worn since his college graduation. At the moment, RJ has opted for the full package, with the fluted white gold bezel and Jubilee bracelet. But he owns both a smooth bezel and an engine-turned option. He’s also brave enough to pop them on and off himself for an instant change of look for this classic Rolex model.

Surprise, surprise! Nacho is still wearing his Omega Seamaster Professional 300M reference 2254.50.00. In this episode, he promises to mix it up this coming year, but we’re having a hard time taking his word for it. All we can say is that we sincerely hope the rest of his collection will see the light of day in 2024. For now, though, here’s one last picture of the 2254 on a gray Phoenix NATO strap, just as the MOD intended.
